Valencia snatch a precious win against Espanyol


Valencia overcame a late goal in the first half to win precious 2-1 at Espanyol in the second half of their game on Saturday in the opening games of the twelfth stage of the Spanish league.

Valencia regained some of their balance in the competition and returned to play the tone of winning victories in today's game to raise the tally to 17 points and jumped to eighth place temporarily until the end of the rest of the games.

Espanyol have eight points from 19th in the last two games, suffering a second successive defeat and a fifth in their last six games.

Espanyol ended the first half with a goal from Mark Rocca from a penalty kick in the 31st minute.

In the second half, Valencia responded with a double by Daniel Parejo and Maximiliano Gomez in the 69th minute from a penalty and 80.
