Ronaldo leads Portugal to Euro 2020


Portugal formally qualified for the Euro 2020 Championship, after beating Luxembourg 2-0, in the final round of European qualifying for Euro 2020.

Portugal midfielder Bruno Fernandez scored the first goal in the 39th minute and Cristiano Ronaldo scored the second in the 86th minute.

With this win, Portugal raised their tally to 17 points and qualify for the euro from second place in the second group, along with the group leader Ukraine.

Luxembourg continued to dominate the game, and in the 25th minute, Luxembourg striker Gerson Rodriguez missed the most dangerous chances after a corner kick in front of the goal to head it over the bar in the absence of Portugal's defense.

In the 39th minute, Bruno Fernandez broke the clash, scoring the first goal for Portugal after receiving a great long pass by midfield from Bernardo Silva, Fernandez to take the ball and kick and hit a powerful shot in the nets of Luxembourg.

At the start of the second half, the Portuguese team came close to doubling the result with a second goal, after a cross from the corner of Bese, defender Fonte met with a header passed through the post, Rodriguez responded with a deceptive shot from inside the penalty area of ​​Portugal, but passed peacefully over the Patricio cross.

Bruno Fernandes got a free-kick on the edge of the penalty area, in the 78th minute, by Cristiano Ronaldo, next to the right post of Luxembourg goalkeeper.

In the 86th minute, Ronaldo scored the second goal for Portugal, after an attack started by Ronaldo with a pass from midfield to Bernardo, who crossed to Diego Jota, who fired and failed to keep the keeper away to find Ronaldo, who completed it and put it in the net.
