Euro 2020 organizers between appearances and risk of absence

Euro 2020 features are beginning to emerge after a large number of teams have secured qualification and officially participate in the tournament, which begins on 12 June next year.

Sixteen teams have already qualified for the tournament: Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, England, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, and Ukraine.

It is scheduled to participate in the tournament 24 teams, which means 8 places remain vacant so far.

The top two runners-up in all 10 groups qualify, bringing 20 teams to the tournament, leaving four more cards.

Teams who have failed to qualify will have to wait to see if they can qualify for the play-offs, which will depend on the top four teams at each level of the UEFA Europa League.

Each level will have four teams in the playoffs, with one team from each of the four levels in the Nations League.

Euro Hosts

UEFA has decided to build the next version of the euro in a new way, with 12 cities hosting the tournament next year.

3 group stage games, the round of 16, semi-final and final in London (England) - Wembley Stadium.

3 group stage games and one quarter-final: Baku (Azerbaijan) - Olympic Stadium, Munich (Germany) - Allianz Arena, Rome (Italy) - Olympic Stadium, St. Petersburg (Russia) - Christovsky Stadium.

3 group stage games and a round of 16 match: Amsterdam (Netherlands) - Johan Cruyff Arena, Bilbao (Spain) - San Mames Stadium, Bucharest (Romania) - National Stadium, Budapest (Hungary) - Ferenc Puskas Stadium, Copenhagen (Denmark) - Parken Stadium, Dublin (Republic of Ireland) - Dublin Arena, Glasgow (Scotland) - Hampden Park Stadium.

Unqualified opportunities

There are still chances for a number of teams hosting their countries, led by Denmark, which is enough to draw at least against Ireland to ensure the qualification of the euro officially, with the top of Group D with 15 points.

Ireland will have to beat Denmark to secure the tournament, and Switzerland stumbles against Gibraltar in the same round, two points ahead.

With the city of Budapest hosting some Euro matches, Hungary wants to qualify in various ways, having great chances to qualify in the last round.

Hungary is second in their qualifying group, having 12 points, one point ahead of Wales, before meeting face-to-face in the final round.

It is enough for the Hungarian team to get out of the draw, to ensure the qualification officially, to deprive Wales of the second consecutive participation.

Romania failed to secure qualification, despite the host city of Bucharest for a number of matches of the euro, so it has to wait to find out his position on the qualifying qualifier through the Nations.

The Romanian team finished second in its group with 12 points, behind Serbia, two points behind, to become among the best teams of the third level, increasing his chances of participating in the extension.

Scotland, meanwhile, lost their chances of qualifying through qualifying after finishing third in their group, nine points behind runners-up Russia.

However, there is a glimmer of hope for Scotland that they can qualify through the qualifying round of the Nations League, having already managed to top his group at the third level and qualify for the second level in the tournament, making him among the top 4 teams in the rankings, which ensures him at least in the playoff.

It was impossible for Azerbaijan to qualify for the tournament through the qualifiers, after the bottom of the group with a single point, to have to wait to know his position on the participation in the Nations Cup.

Azerbaijan's results in the Nations League were not bad, but they finished second in their group at the fourth level with 9 points, behind Kosovo, which rose to the highest level.
