Being late is better than never… A new feature from Adobe reveals the modified images on Photoshop
Every year, Adobe allows its engineers to enjoy some experimental projects to be showcased at the company's Max conference. These experiences, called Sneaks, often become available for use in Adobe products, and the About Face tool presented this time is the most unique and we can use this feature. Find out if someone's facial details have been manipulated using artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques.
Modern image editing tools make it easy to edit people 's photos to make them better and more attractive at times or to exploit and ridicule them in other cases. In both cases, Adobe software had the biggest role in this case by some abusive parties. The new About Face feature simply puts any image into that tool and will present a probability of image manipulation as a percentage. The tool does not look at the whole image as the face detection algorithm does but passes the image pixels one by one.
About Face gives the user details about each part of the image, providing a thermal map of the edited areas. The tool is specially designed to detect changes made using the tool Liquefy available in the popular image editing application Adobe Photoshop where the user can see where the pixels have been extended or compressed Furthermore, the tool can try to undo changes made to the images and return them to their original form. The presentation by Adobe showed impressive results on the day of the conference by 53% for face images and 99% for the rest of the categories.
