Bayern continue their clean victories by dropping Düsseldorf
Bayern Munich continued their winning streak under coach Hans Flick by knocking Fortuna Dusseldorf home 4-0 on Saturday in the 12th round of the Bundesliga.
Bayern's goals came from Benjamin Pavard, Corinthian Tolleson, Sergei Gnabry, and Philippe Coutinho, in the 11, 27, 34 and 70 minutes, to keep clean sheets in their 3 matches under Flick.
With this win, Bayern increased their points to 24 points to jump to second place, while Fortuna stopped at 11 points in the 14th place.
Bayern waited until nine minutes into the game to threaten the Fortuna goal by Thomas Muller, who received a pass from Robert Lewandowski and directly shot a creeping globe, colliding with the feet of one of the defenders of Dusseldorf, to pass by the post and turn into a corner.
It took just two minutes for the Bavarians to take the lead after Joshua Kimmich crossed the ball into the center of the area to touch Benjamin Pavard's foot and pass through the net.
Lewandowski almost helped to boost Bayern's lead with a second goal after a ball inside the penalty area, to kick it and hit it hard, but passed through the left post.
Philippe Coutinho squandered a chance after a ball from Pavard's feet, before heading straight to the goal, but it passed by the right post.
Fortuna goalkeeper Zach Stephen made a fatal mistake after passing a foul to Kimmich, who passed it straight to Sergei Gnabry, and in turn, sent a cross from Corinthian Tolleso with a direct shot that hugged the net.
Lewandowski set up the ball on the left side, pushing into the penalty area, before sending a perfect cross to Janabri, who hit it with a powerful shot, to hit the left post and go off the field.
The home side's danger to Noir, who was absent from the match, did not appear because of the lack of attacks from Fortuna.
The Bavarians took advantage of the retreat from Düsseldorf to consolidate their lead with a third goal through Janabri, who received a silk pass from Muller, to send it directly into the net, to maintain his lead (3-0) until the end of the first half.
The rhythm of the game eased in the second half amid Bayern's overall control of the ball, while Fortuna appeared incapable of posing any danger to Noir's goal.
In the 64th minute, Lewandowski lifted a cross into a header, but the Düsseldorf goalkeeper brilliantly pulled it into a corner.
Bayern launched a quick counterattack that reached Coutinho, who in turn passed to Lewandowski, to dodge the last Fortuna defender and sends a cross to the Brazilian player again, to put it easily into the net, scoring the fourth goal.
Bayern managed to control the rhythm of the game until the end of the game, the referee whistle to win the guests (4-0).
