Roberts was born on October 28, 1967, in Smyrna, Georgia. She is of English, Scottish, Irish, German, and Swedish descent. She lived in Georgia, where she attended Fitzhoe Lee Primary School, Griffin Middle School, and Campbell High School. In 1972, her mother married Michael Motis, whom she despised so much for insulting her.
